Vision
The Oracle Room is a space where intuition and the subconscious dictate the narrative. Where concepts, memories, and identities are redefined. Rooted in Surrealism, processes here are meant to be experimented with and creation is guided by instinct. In this space, the predictable is rejected in favor of what emerges.

Sofie Rosalien Deen
The Oracle Room is the studio of Sofie Rosalien Deen, an experimental visual artist based in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
Inspired by female surrealist artists, she is guided by intuition, experimentation, and a fascination with what happens in between life and death, dream and reality, presence and absence.
Her work is surrealist and often moves through themes of identity, memory, the sensorial body, power and the subconscious.
Experimental analog photography and poetry are currently the main areas of focus. However, painting, collage, riso printing techniques have been used in the past and can be a part of future projects.
